Reed Making - Iona Walker

The  HOW workshop is a day full of activities for oboists Grade 5 and above.  The workshops are divided up into focused secions working on different  aspects of playing in fun ways that encourage the students to try new  things. Topics  covered during the day will be Warm ups, Breathing, Musicality,  Technique, Finger Twisters, Reed Making with Iona Walker from Iona  Reeds, a Virtual Ensemble rehearsal, along with a virtual concert from  the tutors.  As  these workshops are online it does mean that the microphones are off  for some of the time but we do make sure we have some zoom fun creating  some soundscapes as a group. As part of the workshop you can join in the  Oboe Workshops Virtual Ensemble, recording your part of a piece  arranged especially for this event. Your recording will be put together  with all the participants from the 3 August workshops to create the  virtual ensemble and uploaded to You Tube. There is also time for  quesions and problem solving so if any of the participants have any  questions they can ask at any point. The workshops are designed to be  very interactive, informative and fun!
